Keller Williams Realty New Orleans

Overview

Real Estate Scholarship
The 90-hour licensing course.
Free. On us.
This scholarship covers the full cost of your 90-hour LREC-approved pre-license course — the single biggest expense between you and a Louisiana real estate license. Here’s the road ahead; most people go from enrollment to active license in about three months.
Weeks
1–6

Pre-License

Complete 90-Hour LREC-Approved Coursework

Self-paced online or in-person classroom — fully paid for by this scholarship, at no cost to you. Most people finish in 4–8 weeks with steady study habits. The concepts build on each other, so consistency beats cramming.

Weeks
7–8

National Exam

Kaplan Prep → Pearson VUE National Portion

The licensing exam has two parts. The National portion covers general real estate principles — 80 questions, 105 minutes. Kaplan is the go-to prep tool and most candidates feel ready after 1–2 weeks of practice tests.

Week
8–9

State Exam

Pearson VUE Louisiana State Portion

The Louisiana-specific section covers state law and local practice — 55 questions, 75 minutes. You can take both portions in the same session, and if you pass one but not the other, you only retake the one you missed.

Weeks
9–10

Background Check

IdentoGO Fingerprint Background Check

A quick fingerprint appointment — schedule it through IdentoGO, separate from your license application. Most digital submissions clear in 1–3 business days.

Weeks
10–12

LREC

License Application & Activation

Submit your application to the Louisiana Real Estate Commission with your sponsoring broker information. Processing typically takes 1–2 weeks. Step-by-step checklist: lrec.gov/become-licensed/salesperson
